PR Week: Coffee Break with Prosek Partners’ Jennifer Prosek

During the pandemic, Prosek Partners founder and CEO Jennifer Prosek has seen tremendous change in the role of PR agencies in the financial and B2B sectors.

In this week’s edition of Coffee Break, Jennifer Prosek joined PRWeek’s editorial director Steve Barrett and discussed the PR economy in today’s rapidly changing business climate.

“This is a communicator’s crisis,” Prosek said, “meaning, when in the world have business leaders had to deal with a health crisis, an economic crisis, a race and inequality crisis and many other things all at one time? Leaders are struggling to communicate. They need us more than ever.”

Not only has Prosek seen changes in the way that businesses are relying on PR, but she has also seen an impressive response in how the financial sector has embraced purpose as a central business focus.

“We’re seeing, pretty much across corporate America, but in the financial sector too, real action and real care and real authentic embrace of the future and what it’s got to be,” she explained.

She also discussed Prosek Partners’ recently released survey, in which the firm explored whether New York and London will remain media hubs and the ways the pandemic has affected sourcing and relationships to PR firms.

Coffee Break is a weekly 15-minute intermission in your working day to discover more about PR pros who occupy interesting roles across the industry, live each Wednesday morning by 11 a.m. ET.

This interview from Steve Barrett originally ran in PR Week on October 28, 2020.
